WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN LINCOLN CENTRAL ASSOCIATION
LCA serves as an advocate for the neighborhood. We champion green space, historic preservation, thoughtful new-home construction and public safety. LCA works closely with the Alderman’s office and other elected officials, local police and fire departments, schools and neighboring associations on a variety of initiatives for the betterment of our neighborhood. Each month, we publish a free, award winning newsletter, From the Heart, focusing on our neighborhood.
LCA helps maintain and beautify Bauler Playlot Park and serves as its fiscal agent. We are currently raising funds for the Park’s upcoming renovation. We also financially support and maintain a community flower, herb and vegetable garden at award winning Fire Station Park, and a shade-filled neighborhood square centered by a fountain at Lincoln Central Park. In 2015, LCA hosted or co-hosted eight family friendly events: two Aldermanic debates, the second annual Spring Zing, the inaugural Sunday Summer Sipper, the second annual An Evening in the Garden, Howler at Bauler, an LCA sponsored event held each October for many years, and the dedications of Ella Jenkins Park and Richard “Dickie” Harris Way. Seven of the eight events were free of charge to the public.
Our monthly Board meetings and zoning & planning committee meetings, also held monthly, are open to the public. Dropping in is a great way to hear and see Lincoln Central Association in action. Many of our committees have openings for members who wish to become more active.
Your membership renewal will help LCA continue to care for gardens and parks, host family-friendly neighborhood events, maintain an up-to-date, informative website and publish our award winning newsletter. If you are not already a member of Lincoln Central Association, we hope you will join today.
