LCA’s annual Howler at Bauler Halloween party held this year on Saturday, October 24, attracted the largest crowd in the history of the event. Special guests included 43rd Ward Alderman Michele Smith, State Representative Ann Williams and Congressman Mike Quigley.
Attendees were entertained by a nationally renowned magician, Danny Orleans, a popular balloon artist and face painting team knows as A Real Mad Hatter, and a DJ and singer/dancers from Bizarre Entertainment playing music for children. The event also featured a costume parade, led by LCA Board member Gary Sinclair, games, a contest for best costume and a raffle with fabulous prizes including 4 Bulls’ tickets, 4 Blackhawks’ tickets, 8 tickets to Winterfest, a $250 gift basket from Natural Elements Salon and a 32 inch flat screen high def television.
One of the event’s highlights was a visit by Fire Engine No. 22. The crew from the fire engine led by Engineer Ben Hosek, welcomed the children and showed them the equipment in the truck.
