Fire Station Park Dedication – Saturday, September 17th at 11:00AM

Lincoln Central Association invites you to come to the dedication of the rejuvenated Fire Station Park, located just south of the Chicago Fire Department station at Larrabee and Armitage. Help us thank community volunteers and other generous supporters who contributed to the park's restoration.

Special guests will include Alderman Michele Smith, former Alderman Vi Daley, representatives from the Chicago Department of Transportation, Home Depot, Openlands, Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects, Greencorps and the neighborhood volunteers. Everyone is welcome. Come see what's growing in our neighborhood. And learn how you can become involved.

They have supported a number of Chicago area schools, as well as the Primo Center (women and children's homeless shelter) and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Wading in Water

Record rainfall in July had many Lincoln Parkers mouthing Wading in the Waters instead of Singing in the Rain as basements, parkways and streets flooded. The Chicago Tribune's article on our summer floods, Chicago flooding (Q&A: Freak storm, aging sewers and Chicago's topography lead to flooding woes - chicagotribune.com), provides insight into the problem and makes recommendations for homeowners.
